The Nissan Off-Road Club with its base in and around the greater Gauteng held their first get together of the year in the form of a drive-out to Hennops Offroad Trail on Saturday 18 January 2014.
The event were attended by 34 vehicles that consisted of Club members with Nissans, non-Cub members also with Nissans as well as a number of friends of the Club with a variety of vehicle makes. A number of Nissan Dealers have also joined the Club and Brits Nissan was present on the day.
The Nissans on the day included Patrols, Hardbodies, Pathfinders, Navara’s, Sani’s as well as Terrano’s. The day kicked off with a driver orientation session followed by the trail drive. The attendees were divided into two groups of which one group consisted of inexperienced drivers and the other group of the more seasoned campaigners.
The event was also used as a hands-on training opportunity and the less experienced drivers were taken through the basics of the sport e.g. tyre deflation, choosing the right line, etc.
The drive-out was followed by the usual braai and informal interaction during which members got to know each other better and networking with the venue owner was strengthened.
