Africa is a special place and we are blessed with easy accessibility to our neighboring countries. Botswana and Zimbabwe are a must and should be on everyone’s bucket list. It’s great to walk in the bush or go on a game drive and experience the afternoon thunderstorms ,the heat and the sounds of the bush.Seriously good for the soul!Always be courteous when entering and exiting the border controls especially in Botswana,in Zimbabwe they are far more friendly.

In Botswana we visited the swamps and the Chobe River then crossed through Kasane and visited the Falls and spent time on a large luxury boat on Kariba.Game is abundant in both areas with many sightings of Elephant near Chobe. We loved the Fish Eagles around Chobe, their cry is a hauntingly beautiful. Our stay at the Victoria Falls Hotel was a time warm,it was as if we were back in the old colonial days.

A few quick tips though; ensure that you have Malaria Prophylaxis and lots of sunscreen. If you have medication ensure that you have a letter from your doctor.Take plenty of SD cards rather than one large one just in case you lose it,photographic opportunities abound . We also made liberal use of Kikois when aroiund camp and the pool as they really are cooler.Lastly watch for the crocs when swimming in Kariba-they are there ,swimming in a cage behind your boat is much safer.
