The third day of OET began with slightly better weather than day two of OET. The wind died down last night much to the delight of the fishermen. They were all waiting for the gate to open at 4.30 am this morning so that they could get onto the water as quickly as possible. Unfortunately the current prediction is that the calm is not expected to last.
The beach launches this morning didn’t go as smoothly as usual. The tide was heading out and so some of the boats beached in the sand and had to be turned around in the water. Lots of vehicles got stuck in the sand today, so the tractors were very busy pulling them out. 4×4 experience counts a lot in these circumstances.
Within the first 30 minutes of launching, Skybird came through on the radio to say they had a Marlin on the line, we’re all holding thumbs for a good result for them. The weigh in is at 4pm this afternoon.
Hold thumbs for continued good fishing weather.
